Amazon has started selling the Fire TV Stick 4K Max worldwide, having unveiled the streaming stick last month. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max features some improvements over its predecessor that supposedly add up to 40% better overall performance.

According to Amazon, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max has 2 GB of RAM, a third more than the Fire TV Stick 4K has. Similarly, the new Fire TV Stick has 100 MHz faster CPU and GPU cores than its predecessor. Amazon states that the Fire TV Stick 4K Max has a MediaTek MT8696 SoC, for reference, along with a different GPU than the Fire TV Stick 4K. However, Amazon does not report what SoC the Fire TV Stick 4K has, for some reason.

Regardless, the new SoC supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, allowing the Fire TV Stick 4K Max to utilise faster download speeds when streaming 4K content. You must also own a Wi-Fi 6 router to take advantage of the streaming stick's faster download speeds, though. Additionally, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDMI ARC, HDR and HDR10+.

While Amazon pre-loads regional apps, all orders will come with 2 AAA batteries, an HDMI extender, a USB cable, a power adaptor and an Alexa Voice Remote. At the time of writing, Amazon has stock of the Fire TV Stick 4K Max in the Eurozone, UK and the US.
