According to HP, the Z32k G3 is the first monitor to rely on an IPS Black Panel, which should deliver deeper blacks and more vibrant colours than regular IPS panels. Specifically, IPS Black Panel technology should provide 35% deeper blacks than other IPS panels. However, the HP Z32k G3 offers a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, well short of what mini-LED or OLED panels achieve. Also, the HP Z32k G3 covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space and exceeds the sRGB colour space.

Equipped with a 31.5-inch panel, the HP Z32k G3 also operates at 4K and peaks at 400 nits. Additionally, the HP Z32k G3 has thin display bezels on all sides, albeit with a thick-looking chassis. Moreover, HP includes a Thunderbolt 4 port that can recharge a laptop at up to 100 W, as well as providing data and video. Similarly, it is possible to connect a second 4K monitor to the HP Z32k G3 without requiring a dedicated Thunderbolt dock.

Furthermore, the monitor contains a KVM switch, an Ethernet connection and is backwards compatible with traditional USB Type-C ports. It is worth noting that you cannot connect a second display to the HP Z32k G3 when using a regular USB Type-C cable. Alternatively, the monitor offers one DisplayPort and two HDMI ports, should you prefer to use dedicated video outputs. Currently, HP has not confirmed how much the Z32k G3 monitor will cost. HP claims that it will start offering the monitor in November 2022, though.
