Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2022 - Nintendo Life

2021-12-30 20:58:19 By : Ms. Aries Tao

Another year, another 12 months of quality Switch ports. The past couple of years we've published a small wishlist of ports we'd love to see come to Switch and, on the whole, we've been pleased to see several games crossover to our favourite handheld hybrid. Last year, for example, we were jonesing for Fall Guys, Outer Wilds, and Tony Hawk's (among others, of course), and they all got confirmed for Switch. Sure, only the latter is actually available at the time of writing, but we expect to see the other two arrive in 2022 — hopefully sooner rather than later.

An increasing number of Cloud Version games have crept onto Switch, and while some of them aren't up to snuff, others function perfectly adequately — we'll always prefer to see games running natively on the hardware, though.

We've also seen some of the remaining indie classics arrive on Switch — games like FEZ and Spelunkys 1 and 2. With Braid on the way, there can't be too many indie darlings still missing from Switch. We'd pay handsomely to see FTL on Switch — then again, can we afford to lose dozens of hours to it all over again?

Below we've collected a small selection of the games we'd most like to see hop-skip-jump their way onto Switch in 2022. There are a few remaining Wii U games that haven't come to Switch which we've excluded from the running, and a couple are holdovers from previous years (yes, we'll keep putting Persona 5 on here every year, dagnabit) but each and every one would be gratefully received on Nintendo's console should a publisher deign to make it happen.

Wallets open, money ready. Come on, it's there for the takin'...

Inscryption is a deckbuilding roguelike psychological horror puzzler and various other bits thrown into a piece of software that's been the talk of Twitter for the last few months and also graced many a multiplatform GOTY list. Even if the word 'roguelike' has you rolling your eyes into infinity, this is one you'll want to put aside your preconceived notions for.

Devolver Digital like the Switch. The game looks like a perfect fit for the platform. If we had to put our money on any game from this list coming to Switch, it would be this one.

Then again we said Persona 5 was a dead cert years ago.

We hate to keep harping on... but we're gonna.

Persona 5, a game that — lest we forget — released on PS3 back in 2016, is still not available on a Nintendo system. Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers was pleasant enough, but it's not Persona 5.

Who can say when Atlus and Sega are concerned. They're leaving a sizeable wad of cash on the table as far as we're concerned, but perhaps Sony has the exclusivity rights tied up for something. If it was going to happen, it surely would have happened by now — but we're optimists at heart. It's never too late, Atlus.

GOTY Winner at The Game Awards, It Takes Two relies on co-operation via splitscreen local (or online) play, and seems like it would be a perfect fit for Switch.

The game was developed by Hazelight Studios and founder Josef Fares' Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is available on Switch. The studios previous game, A Way Out, is only available on other platforms, though, and with EA on publishing duties, it's tough to predict whether or not Nintendo gamers will see this critically acclaimed title, however good a fit it would seem to be. Bringing it over might present an unappealing technical challenge, too.

We got Mass Effect 3 on Wii U, remember? Remember the Wii U and Mass Effect 3? Sitting in a tree? K-I-S-S-I-N-G? Those were the days when EA execs looked at the Wii's numbers and thought they better go all-in on Wii U. Oopsidaisies.

Having been stung on Wii U, EA hasn't bothered much with Switch. The likelihood of the trilogy making a surprise appearance on Switch is slim, but we'd love to go planet-hopping with Shepherd aboard the Normandy again. Go on, EA, give us this one.

A returner from last year, first-person bug-hunter Bugsnax is still something we think would fit nicely on Switch. Nintendo gamers love ensnaring weird little monsters, after all, and we're eager to find out more after hearing strange murmurs over the last year concerning the exact nature of these ominously named entomological morsels.

Young Horses' game was a PS launch exclusive on consoles, and the developer has said "we’d love to bring the game to other platforms". Performance was choppy on PS4, so a Switch version would be a challenge, but certainly possible.

Gavin loves a bit of couch co-op, especially when he gets to delegate roles, bark instructions and give much-appreciated performance feedback at the end. He lives in Spain (the plain-y bit where the rain mainly falls) and his love for Banjo-Kazooie borders on the unhealthy.

Please sir, may I have some more ports?

"Tails of Arise"

Tales of Arise, NieR: Automata, and Metroid Prime Trilogy would all top my list. I'd still also like to see a port of TES IV: Oblivion, though that's increasingly unlikely due to the Bethesda buyout....

@Fiyaball yeah this article had quite a few errors. “Doesn’t hasn’t bothered” Not the quality control you’d expect from a nintendolife article.

Actual ports of Kingdom Hearts

More PS2 level games that is too strong for Switch and needs to be on Cloud

I would actually have some new switch exclusives.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Tales of Berseria > Tales of Arise.

I'd love to see the Yakuza series make the jump to Switch too though, or at the very least the Judgment spinoffs.

Scarlet Nexus would be nice too.

Wii U and Mass Effect 3. K I S S I N G! 😂😂😂

Put Xenoblade Chronicles X on the switch. Thats basically the only major exclusive left on that system that hasn't been ported.

Can anyone explain why the Psychonauts games will never be ported to Switch? I’d love an opportunity to play those

@Arawn93 Do you seriously think the Switch can't run PS2 games or were you just being sarcastic?

Bamco not releasing Tales Of Arise on switch is still one the biggest travesty of 2021.

Still kinda hilarious how Persona 5, the game that just had to come to Switch, still isn't on the platform, despite basically everyone (even people from different branches of Atlus) saying that it's happening, and even an official poll asking fans if they want Persona 5 on Switch.

At this point I think Atlus is just trolling us.

@cmbaum Psychonauts 2 likely isn't easy to port to Switch as it's a pretty demanding game. Possible, but not easy. And if anything, they're waiting to finish a Psychonauts 2 port to release Psychonauts 1 on Switch.

Really I mostly just want Persona 3-5, Zero Escape, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Thousand-Year Door.

Nothing. New games please. Actual genuine new games.

I don't get the appeal of Bugsnax at all.

@cmbaum Microsoft owns the developer now. With the studios they've bought in recent years, MS has honored already announced ports. Switch was never in the pipeline, and didn't even exist when the sequel was announced. They're trying to build out Gamepass with exclusives so it's very unlikely any new ports are going to be created.

Considering how loud my ps4 fan gets on the table arise demo, I doubt the switch could even come close to running it. Berseria would be a better choice. Load times would also be insane for a lot of these.

I'd like to see(and buy and play!) ports of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev. 2, The King of Fighters XI, The King of Fighters XIII, Melty Blood (Actrees Blood Again...? I don't remember game's full name correctly...), The King of Fighters XV, Corpse Party: Book Of Shadows, Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash, some of Metal Gear Solid mainline games, Dead Island or Dead Rising, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Soulcalibur 2 or 6, Battle Arena Toshinden(2nd or 3rd or the latest game in the series), Ultra Street Fighter IV, Bloody Roar(latest game in the series), JoJo fighting game, Flatout(1st game in the series), Vampire Savior(Darkstalkers 3?), The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, The King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Final Edition, Final Fantasy VI, Lolipop Chainsaw, Shadows of the DAMNED, "Flower, Sun, and Rain", killer7, Michigan: Report From Hell, 428: Shibuya Scrumble, Captain Rainbow, Viewtiful Joe, 999(Zero Escape?), Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls, Dragon's Crown Pro, entire Clock Tower series... And more...

My wishlist (in no particular order): Square Enix: Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG Final Fantasy 4, 5 and 6 Kingdom Hearts 1, 2 & Birth by Sleep Dragon Quest 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Intelligent System: Fire Emblem 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Atlus: Persona 4 & 5 Shin Megami Tensei IV + Apocalypse Nippon Ichi: Disgaea 2, D2 and 3 Camelot: Golden Sun 1 &2 Nintendo: Tomodachi Life HAL Lab: Earthbound, Mother 3 Remakes of Yu-Gi-Oh Falsebound Kingdom or Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen

@Fiyaball A test! Yes, a test! 👀

Mirror’s Edge with gyro controls would be nice, although again it’s EA so it won’t happen (unless they can think of a way to add micro-transactions).

I’d rather have phantasy star online

@Bobarino yeah i played through the game on ps4 and it definitely seems like it was struggling in places.

not saying its impossible since im not a dev and only have other games and systems to go by but considering games like ninokuni 2 have trouble maintaining 30fps on switch it doesn't look good for ToAs chances.

wouldnt say no to some of the older tales games though.

my main wish in terms of ports is probably those FF remasters that came to pc considering they were apparently good versions of the games and we havent seen the originals on console in many years.

Rather boring list for me.

After playing Arise on xbox, I believe that a Switch port is more than possible

Yeah. I'd like the ""most entry"" in the tales series, please.

Shadowgate 64... it was one of my favorite N64 games and it's been largely forgotten.

Tales of Arise along with these ports that are mentioned. I would take them all.

However, I think some would more likely comr to the Switch Advance (the next generation Nintendo console) so the devs can have less need to over optimize to the tech. You indicated this yourselves

Ah yes, Tales of Arise would surely run on Switch, right? Right?! RIGHT?! Nope.

If we're only getting the original Prime, I'd hope it's a full-blown remake with some new content thrown in there. Otherwise I'd rather just play the Trilogy on Wii/Wii U or even Dolphin.

More ports overall would be fantastic but hoping the most for Nintendo to fill in more of the GC, Wii and Wii U gaps on the Switch. XCX is at the top of the list.

Port Begging, always a good time haha

Nier Automata is a must. Such a fantastic game.

I really want SMT IV and Apocalypse on the Switch. The assets are relatively high quality (except for the historic sprites, of course) and honestly having all my favourite Atlus games on Switch would be awesome. Atlus treated the 3DS like a port machine, in fact I think Atlus ports to the 3DS outnumber it's original games, so it would be nice to see a few games with updated graphics. It suits their historic strategies as well so it doesn't seem too out there.

No-one asks for Persona 2. Why is that?

I'm hoping for a Nier PS5 re-release. My Switch port wishlist consists of Metroid Prime (of course), Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remasters, Persona 3-5, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and I really hope there's some merit to those Final Fantasy Tactics and Chrono Cross Remaster rumors. I'm also always down for some Mother and/or Golden Sun.

Everything I need is already on the switch (thanks Derek for Spelunky 2), but it would be possible to continue porting From Software games, Dark Souls is an excellent port.. Sekiro, please:)

No Dark Souls 2 trash article.

Jokes aside, I thought the trilogy was gonna be on Switch?

Metroid Prime Trilogy/ Xenoblade X would be the main ones, but P5 is a meme at this point and I no longer care.

My #portbegging list is invariably crowned by the Gran Pulse saga and Dishonored games, followed by every tri-Ace , NIS, Monolith Soft and [what was formerly known as] Namco Tales Studio title that's not on Switch yet, followed by more Ubisoft open-worlders (especially driving ones like Watch Dogs and The Crew which are more consistent cockpit view adopters than half the other genre representatives), followed by... pretty much everything else. You know me - if a game isn't on Switch and I haven't yet beaten it elsewhere with no real revisit urge, I'll want it on Switch. It's THE console and THE gaming platform for me. If [insert title] is allegedly too demanding for the hardware, let it be some of the countless pastgen ones that aren't - and keep the rest ticked for the day you get the devkits for a Switch successor, not for a current gen cloud version that all of the happy few thousands with their 22nd century internet would be in the market for.😉

tales of arise is really good! my favorite in the series

If the rumors are true, it sounds like Persona 3 (PSP version) is coming to PC, Switch and PS4. Could be a chance P5R would roll out with new hardware in future. The Switch is the number one system in Japan, I think Altus is aware they need to make a decision on Persona for the platform. Don’t think rights have too much to do with it as Altus was never big on porting titles before Sega bought them.

For me, P4G, P5R, Batman Arkham series, Saints Row 2, Bully and Metal Gear series.

Would love to see NHL or Madden , even an inferior version. How about NHL 94 Rewind?

Ah Metroid Prime Trilogy, we can but dream. I've pretty much already given up on that one. Mass Effect trilogy would be nice as well, but I also don't see that happening. I would like to see dark souls 2 and Zombie Chronicles. BOTW 2 and MP4 are the only games I have to look forward to on Switch, really need something else on the horizon.

As much as I really enjoyed Inscryption on Steam, I have pretty big doubt of it porting to Switch; given some of its 'elements' would give the game less sense as a console port (unless they're completely reworked).

I had previously read the rumor that a Switch version of Metroid Prime is complete. After playing through Metroid Dread a half dozen times, I booted up my GameCube and played a good amount of Metroid Prime. Unfortunately, my rose colored glasses were fogged up by the unnecessary (IMO) high amount of enemy respawns. I would only be interested in a Switch port with better graphics and QoL improvements.

Persona 5, Inscription and It Takes Two are a must imo, they would be very welcome on the system. I have watched some YouTubers dabble with Inscription and it looks so very good and is more than meets the eye at first glance. I also need a good co-op game to play with my GF, one we will actually stick with and It Takes Two would be perfect for that. Please make all of these happen.

lol if P5 was going to come to Switch, I think it would have by now. Game has been out worldwide for almost five years now!

Mass Effect Legendary Edition or anything that is EA related on this list will never come or be a reality on Switch.

Can Mass Effect Legendary Edition run on Switch: Most likely it could, it is doable in my opinion. But if they can't, they could port the original trilogy (the PS3 and Xbox 360 one) at the very least

Will it happen though: It most likely will never happen.

@moodycat, "Tales of Berseria > Tales of Arise"

I'm interested why you think so. Granted, Berseria is a good game & I think it's core cast stands up to Arise, but Arise just seems like such a step up in every other regard.

@mariomaster96 I am assuming the PS3 version ones right? Because KH3 can't run on Switch at all

Anyone saying that they would like Yakuza on Switch, might I need to remind you that someone from Sega said Yakuza isn't really a good fit for Nintendo console and that Nintendo is for kids?

Call of duty world at war

@iLikeUrAttitude well Switch can barely handle the GTA Trilogy.

@Giancarlothomaz It's the other way around.

The GTA Trilogy can't handle game consoles in general.

Here are the games I want to come to Switch:

-Paper Mario 2 (I love the series, but The Origami King shows that this series needs to return to its roots right now) -Yoshi's Woolly World (with both portability and 2-player co-op; Yoshi's Crafted World never happened) -NES Remix 1 & 2 -Pushmo collection -Crash TwinSanity -Crash Tag Team Racing -Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins -Mega Man Powered Up -The Power Stone games -Bomberman Generation -Bomberman Blast (with the Single Player mode that only Japan got) -TwinBee Collection -Castlevania: Symphony of the Night -Castlevania: Rondo of Blood -Warriors All Stars -Pac-Man Championship Edition DX Plus (Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 was good, but DX Plus is better) -Soul Calibur II (with Link included) -Crazy Taxi -Sonic Adventure -Sonic Adventure 2 -Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg -Final Fantasy I through VI -Dragon Quest IV through IX -Saints Row 2 -ClaDun Returns: This is Sengoku! -Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 (Yes, I meant the PS3 one, which doesn't utilize the watered-down battle system in Re;Birth 2 and many other later entries in the mainstream series. Yes, I played Megadimension Neptunia VIIR and its battle system felt too menu-y) -Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls (...okay, this is one "Victory" game I actually enjoyed in the mainstream Neptunia series) -Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth trilogy (I liked Megadimension Neptunia VII better than this trilogy, but...whatever...) -The Legend of Dark Witch 2 (with the 'Renovation' treatment like the first game on Switch) -3D Dot Game Heroes -Odin Sphere Leifthrasir

stop with the port begging, give us exclusive or timed exclusive games like Monster Hunter Rise on Switch.

Just give us the entire GameCube library on Switch, NSO or Virtual Console. That will shut up the internet for a few years. (I know it's unrealistic but I can dream)

For the longest time I wanted dishonored, but with the steam deck I'm fine. Now what I want more than anything is the Viewtiful Joe games.

@BloodNinja Dark Souls Trilogy would have been on Switch if Dark Souls Remastered actually sold well.

But unfortunately it seems that it didn't, at least not to begin with, i don't know about sales now but i know that sales at the start were hampered by some bad sound bugs and terrible frame rates, game got patched but much like The Outer Worlds, if a game releases broken, it'll stump the sales of the game permanently.

So i doubt we'll see anymore FromSoft games on the Switch.

@Giancarlothomaz that has absolutely nothing to do with the Switch being unable to handle GTA Trilogy, those games were broken even on PC/PS5.

Rockstar messed that up. Getting some shoddy mobile development team to make the game.

@Giancarlothomaz The trilogy ran garbage on all consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Saints row 1 & 2 , GTA 4 , splitgate , genshin impact , dead or alive 5 & 6 , Tekken 7 , mortal Kombat XL ,tomb raider trilogy , resident evil 1 ,2 ,3 (origiinals) & code Veronica , bully , Wii sports , cod mw remastered & cod mw 2 remastered , batman Arkham collection , elder Scrolls oblivion , fallout 3...

@Gamer_Zeus Oh, I doubt it as well. I can't find hard sales numbers other than the 100K sales in it's opening week, though, so I can neither confirm nor deny.

@anoyonmus Bayonetta would like to have a word with ya.

Me personally (and I’m gonna get some flack for this) I want genshin impact (seriously when is it gonna get its switch release?) and guardian tales. (It’s based off the Zelda games and it’s supposed to get a switch port this year) OH and monster tale. (For anyone wondering why monster tale isn’t out yet Majesco said that it’s taking them longer then it expected)

@anoyonmus Yes, please remind us with an actual source.

@Shadeon_Koopa I mean... they got DDLC+ working on the switch and other consoles and I thought that game would be impossible to port to consoles.

@Greatluigi ???? Well yes Bayonetta is on Switch indeed.

But that is PlatinumGames decision and also Nintendo funded for Bayonetta 2 and 3.

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/12/nintendo_consoles_are_aimed_at_kids_and_teens_says_segas_toshihiro_nagoshi_in_disputed_translation

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/07/switch_isnt_the_right_platform_for_yakuza_says_series_producer

Proof enough for you? Or should I find more? NintendoLife themselves have the sources

@anoyonmus Bayonetta is on the switch and Has a M rating.

Sorry, I'm not going to beg for new ports. I already know very well who makes the great ones (yes, Saber Interactive, you're great... you and few others) and there's no need to beg them to keep on doing great stuff.

Other devs/publishers can really quit behaving like they're doing us a favor to do their ports, and that includes those who set their ports overpriced, those who have found in cloud gaming the new panacea to their incompetence and, last but not least, those who finally release unnecessary "limited" physical editions or delegate this dirty habit to dishonest distributors.

Seriously, for many 3rd party titles I'm just getting back to PC gaming. About those that end up on Switch, I'm just going to nit-pick on them.

@Greatluigi ok so? A lot of games on Switch have M ratings but at the same time a lot of games that aren't on Switch also have M ratings

Bayonetta 2 and 3 were developed in collaboration with Nintendo and PG. Nintendo probably asked Sega to port Bayonetta 1 to Switch and Wii U and probably paid them money for it.

Yakuza is 100% fully Sega. If Sega says Yakuza isn't a good fit for Switch, then don't bother asking them for it on Switch because it most likely and very very likely will not happen.

It is the same case with EA. If EA doesn't bother to port games to Switch, don't ask them and don't port beg it because it won't happen.

Inscryption is a wonderful game.

@anoyonmus just saying that thinking Nintendo consoles are only for kids and teens is a bit..how do I put this? Anyway having yakuza could be really cool for the adult fans of Nintendo. (And yes I’m sure that Nintendo consoles can have a pretty good adult fanbase) heck getting more m rated games would be like Nintendo acknowledging the adult fanbase.😃

@Greatluigi If Sega says Yakuza isn't a good fit of Nintendo consoles then it isn't. Leave it and move on. Or buy/build a PC, Playstation or Xbox to play Yakuza.

Certain games can fit well on Switch while others don't. Yakuza is most likely in the don't section

Metroid Prime Trilogy really needs to come to Switch! Also Wind Waker and Twilight Princess!

Would the Switch even run Tales of Arise without doing injustices to it's fantastic artstyle? Xbox One only manages it at 972p averaging 35fps.

@Xiovanni if the Xbox One is managing at that low of a resolution (its not that low but still) and is also running at around 35fps then I am pretty sure it couldn't run on Switch.

Another example would be TEKKEN 7. The game also uses UE4 iirc but the game also has a resolution of 720p and is at 60 fps on Xbox One and also PS4 is around that resolution and framerate as well too. Switch couldn't run TEKKEN 7 if the resolution is pretty low for a game that runs on Xbox One and PS4. (Yes 720p imo is pretty low for a game running on Xbox One and PS4)

@mariomaster96 I already forgot that Kingdom Hearts was coming to Switch.......via cloud. sighs

@Gwynbleidd did someone tell you that you should be begging?

I took this article for a light and fun discussion among fans that no developer or publisher will ever actually see and therefore none of these comments actually matter besides the purpose of entertaining discussion.

I’d buy Nier Automata without hesitation. Nothing else needed for me, though - I have far too much to play already. 😓

My vote is for Skies of Arcadia, and until it happens, it always will be my #1 vote.

My wishlist for ports: 1. Persona 5 Royale 2. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (with 3DS controls) 3. Zelda Links between Worlds 4. Chrono Trigger

@BananaMetallurgica well genshin impact for switch is actually confirmed to be happening. The question is WHEN WILL IT COME.

@Giancarlothomaz The switch can definitely handle GTA lol its a last gen game. The GTA trilogy was just made incompetently seeing how it doesn't run well on any system.

I don't get how we're almost 5 years into the Switch's lifespan and people still think it can't run last gen games. Even people thinking its unironically weaker than the PS3 or Xbox 360.

@anoyonmus The first article you linked has it right there in the article saying that the translation is disputed. "It's worth noting that there are some online who are challenging Sega's official translation of Nagoshi's comments, and feel that the tone of what he's trying to say hasn't been accurately conveyed:"

https://twitter.com/aevanko/status/1335768216178585603?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1335768216178585603%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nintendolife.com%2Fnews%2F2020%2F12%2Fnintendo_consoles_are_aimed_at_kids_and_teens_says_segas_toshihiro_nagoshi_in_disputed_translation

Regardless, even if the translation isn't totally accurate, you backed up your post with sources as requested. Kudos.

@burninmylight well it wouldn’t matter regardless because they have said a few years ago that Yakuza isn’t a good fit for Switch so there is that. But I do get the point the translation was indeed disputed.

Personally I really don’t care about the series at all

I definitely want to see persona 5 on switch and sonic adventure 1 and 2 as well I miss chao garden feature shame they never added again in later games.

@anoyonmus I don't care about the series either, but I also take what SEGA says about Yakuza with a grain of salt, because the time that it ported over Yakuza to a Nintendo system was the time that all third party non-exclusives were doomed to failure (Wii U).

If a respectable Yakuza port were to come to the Switch and bomb (and by that, I mean not reach realistic sales expectations, not necessarily sale gangbusters), then SEGA would have a point. But seeing as how we're five years into the consoles lifecycle and it's still getting AAA ports that people would have sworn was impossible five years ago (Dying Light, DOOM Eternal), it's obvious not every publisher agrees with SEGA.

Also, it's freaking SEGA. When's the last time someone there has done something right that either wasn't outsourced or done by Atlus? Making dumb decisions is company policy over there.

Tales of Arise and Valheim would be those "impossible" ports again.

I love gaming on the go, but that doesn't mean I want a poorly running, graphically poor 540p and below experience.

Metroid Prime Trilogy would be a nice one, and a more realistic pick.

My top wish list for Switch ports: 1. Breath of Fire III 2. Xenoblade Chronicles X 3. Metroid Prime Trilogy

@LinkSword it is and a port would be very feasible.

I have one advice for you dreamers ,stop dreaming and go buy yourself a xbox series s subscribe to gamepass and you will have acces to almost all this port list

I don't get the hate for ports. A good game is a good game regardless of how old it is, and games aren't like movies where you can just pop in your disc from 20 years ago on any modern system and play them that way. Making good games accessible is always a plus as long as it can work properly on the hardware, and it's not like they detract from new games either. They're usually handled by smaller teams. It's nothing but a positive in my mind.

Would love to see Papers, Please

Xenoblade Chronicles X. It's a hidden gem and seems very probable.

@Bass_X0 Oliver Twist! did a book report awhile back

Ever Oasis FFCC: My Life As King Fantasy Life Skies of Arcadia Legends LOZ Oracle or Seasons/Ages

Calling it now, we'll see them announce one of those Game and Watch collectors editions with Metroid and Metroid II included and then Metroid Prime Trilogy, as part of the 35th anniversary.

A collection of the handheld adventures of Link would also be pretty dope!

So long as the ports aren't "cloud" ports, and it doesn't hinder new games, I'm all for it.

Can't say i can see Nier Automata coming over, i think the Switch could run it but i can't see Square or Platinum wanting to put in the work and money it would require.

For me i want Metriod Prime Trilogy (and Fusion) and the Wii U remasters of Zelda what really need to be here.

@BloodNinja DS2 could be ported with some cutbacks but i doubt DS3 could run on Switch, i could see it being a mess to be honest.

Numerous weird typos aside, Tales of Arise would be a dream! The Switch truly has spoiled me; I have a gaming laptop yet I only play games on my Switch because it's so damned convenient. Home ➡️ A and I'm in! If I bought Arise on Steam, I'd rarely actually play it because sitting down with the laptop and getting set up, as easy as that is, is a process that requires a time commitment. I received SMT V for Christmas and I'm literally popping in for 5 or 10 minutes whenever I have time and it's great!

@WallyWest I agree with you on that. 2 ran on the PS3, so I’m sure switch can run it. 3 isn’t the best souls game anyway, so I’m not too worried about it. I really want 2, though! Love that game.

I mean the entire Nintendo back-catalog and things that might make the Switch more competitive with Steam Deck.

More Trails games (eg Trails of Cold Steel 1&2), The Wild at Heart, Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, Zelda Gamecube and DS titles, Golden Sun,

@GrailUK Bugsnax is basically an open world Pokemon game only replacing Pokemon with food animal creatures and add puzzles and more story.

@koffing I think it looks ugly.

@BloodNinja I think the issue with DS3 is the engine From uses isn't great nor is how From makes games from a technical standpoint. There's always performance and technical issues with their games so even though the Switch can run games at DS3 level it would have issues with it because of how its built and the engine used, i think it would take a ton of work to get it on the Switch and i think it could cause a lot problems trying unlike say Doom what has a engine what can scale well as well Doom being a technical masterclass to begin. DS3 is a great game and the best Souls game from a technical wise what isn't remasters/remakes or Bloodborne but its still messy at times and has its issues.

@WallyWest The only messy part about a souls game is the PvP/online. The rest of the game is pretty bullet proof unless you go out of your way to break/glitch them. But I’m finding these days that people only tend to reference the online, and rarely talk about the single player. I’ve been playing the trilogy pretty consistently for the past ten years and never had issues with the single player; only the online.

I'd like to see the Wii U exclusive Zelda ported to the Switch... Oh wait... Nevermind.

@iLikeUrAttitude I didn't like XCX much, but I have to agree. This is a huge oversight, especially since monolith soft is owned by Nintendo.

@jamesthemagi I don't want to see Tomodachi Life ported over. I want to see a huge sequel with everything that made Tomodachi Life great but with tons more! Tomodachi World, here we come!

Tales of Arise would be nice, but the visuals would probably be massively downgraded compared to PS5.

Metroid Prime Trilogy YES! Not the rumored remaster of only MP1. Or a remaster of the entire trilogy in that case. Unlikely to happen seeing how the Mario 3D All-stars collection had only minimal improvements.

Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD. It's time....

Nintendo REPAIRING N64 emulation and the affected ROMS. Probably not gonna happen, because they already have a large number of expansion pack subs for the first year. So they don't care.

More NES and SNES games on NSO. Probably not gonna happen. Seeing how tone deaf Nintendo is, they will continue pushing the expansion pack and alienating an ever large group of classic game fans.

Yes, I'm pretty cynical. It's because I think Nintendo can do a lot better and they're lacking.

Don't need ports from other non-nintendo consoles that's what my PS5 is for

But still waiting on a Definitive Edition for Xenoblade X so I can put the Wii U away for good.

Inscryption would have been my game of the year if it wasn’t for Metroid Dread. Dying Light would have been a distant 3rd. Great port but it did come out years ago… I’d tried playing it back in the day but it just never grabbed me like it did on Switch.

Thousand Year Door would be top of my list. Will never happen though because of Nintendo's extremely vital, set-in-stone corporate policy of never doing anything that makes any sense under any circumstances. Remember, Nintendo is a very old Japanese company, and as such we have to respect their long-standing cultural tradition of being a bunch of stubborn a'ssholes.

Circuit superstars please. Many thanks

Sad to see Paper Mario 10000 year door not on the list but takes two is.... Takes two winning game of the year at game awards is a joke.. The game awards is nothing but a glorified infomercial.

Would love to see these games -

Fallout 3/NV Collection Elder Scrolls Oblivion / Morrowind Collection Kingdom Come Deliverance Assassins Creed Ezio Collection Assassins Creed Syndicate Red Dead Redemption 1 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Far Cry 3 SOS Final Escape / Raw Danger Collection (Disaster Report Original) Ocarina Of Time / Majoras Mask Remaster Collection The Curse Of Monkey Island Tales Of Monkey Island Collection Heavy Rain

Metroid Prime Trilogy NOW! That's all I care about.

Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy MGS Collection Far Cry Series GTA V / RD 1, 2 Call of Duty Modern Warfare Trilogy Tales of Arise Scarlet Nexus King of Figther 15 Kingdom Hearts 1.5 2.5 Real Port ( not cloud ) GrandBlue Fantasy RELINK Xenosaga Trilogy World War Z AFTERMATH

@BloodNinja I mean performance wise, there's framerate problems all the time.

We need moar wiiu ports, right?

@WallyWest On PC? Check to make sure you meet system requirements. On console? Haven’t run into frame rate issues since Dark Souls on PS3.

@Nutsalad my guy, Kingdom come deliverance is announced for Switch a couple months ago

I'd love to see Ys 1 Skies of Arcadia Of course Shenmue series Excite Truck And "The Dog Island"

I’ve no doubt at all that Persona 5 and the rest of the series will come to Switch this year. There’s just too much money left on the table for them to not acquiesce to demand. Honestly if there is some exclusivity reason they just need to say that’s the reason why the game will never be ported and call it a day.

Of course I fully believe they teach in business classes for execs and others in similar positions to go out of their way to make idiotic, nonsensical decisions just for the sake of doing it to lose money. I mean you can’t be a successful company if you don’t lose millions every year due to stupidity right?!

I would take a F1 port by codemasters

All I want is Nier Automata and Persona 5. I don't care about any other ports tbh

@BloodNinja Going by PS4, both Bloodborne and DS3 have framerate drops and annoying frame pacing issues what every From game has what isn't a remake or remaster.

I still am holding out hope for Batman Arkham games and the Sims 4 or 5.

Mario Galaxy 2, Pikmin 1+2, Wind Waker & Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime trilogy. I never had the opportunity to play any of these games and reallyy wanna. Greedy? Indubitably.

Unrealistic wish: final fantasy vii remake intergrade
